No ticket stub for this one, but I got this free comic so that’s neat.
So I will start with, whoever casted Margot Robbie for this role deserves a raise. She did a fantastic job in playing this character and I’m not sure who else could play Harley Quinn like her.
My over all opinion on this movie is pretty much my opinion on a majority of the DECU (if it still even exists) so far; it wasn’t bad, it wasn’t great, it was ok. I think my main issue is the film doesn’t know what tone it wants to convey. Granted, it is supposed to be chaotic due to the protagonist’s mental state, but it wasn’t doing it for me. Maybe it works for others, but just not my taste.
This film does follow in the steps of the first Deadpool. Some of the tropes for it work, other parts don’t. I don’t want to deep dive in because it may lead into spoiler territory. But I feel like some of the film was rushed and the editing choice could have gone in a different direction.
If you plan on seeing this film you’ll be guaranteed some laughs, and a couple of eye rolls, but I will have to be honest, not the DCEU’s finest, but not it’s worse; good with major room for improvement.
Off to the next film
